VASSILIS KONTODIMAS – CEO | PRODUCER | WRITER | VFX SUPERVISOR
Since his entry in the production industry in 1993, Vassilis has explored its horizons in both the digital and traditional realm. From concept sketches to finalized audiovisual products, he is experienced from live TV broadcast support to feature films and from real time engine VR to dome theater. With a scientific background in engineering, he also studied music for 3 years to obtain a better understanding of scoring in productions. During his business career, he worked alongside successful entrepreneurs, communications specialists, directors, producers and BTL advertising teams, handling high profile presentations to multinational companies and global events.
He also built theatrical brands for various media companies ran the web adaptations of popular films such as The Beach (2000) and X-Men (2000). Since 2005 he has ran teams & departments with his work appearing in more than 50 countries worldwide. Five Hermes Media Production Awards, twice Production Company of the Year, and a 2017 PR Award are a testimony of his contribution. Between 2000 and 2010 he built the VFX infrastructure of 3 Greek studios, securing a highly productive environment combined with low cost and high viability.
VIKI POSIDIS – COO | PRODUCER | DIRECTOR
Viki Posidis is Canadian born of Greek Immigrants, active in the film industry for over a decade. Trained in Television and Film at the Post Graduate level, Viki is a producer, screenwriter and an award winning director who has worked on various productions from shorts films, television series and feature films. Viki’s most recent film, “Big Little Girl”, which she executive produced, wrote and directed has garnered multiple awards and was recently nominated for a 2016 Director’s Guild of Canada award.
Aside from her creative work, Viki is also adept at budgeting, financing and accounting aspects of filmmaking with credits in films such as del Toro’s “Pacific Rim”, Atom Egoyan’s “Remember”, “Kick Ass 2”, as well as the television productions, “Dark Matter”, “Mary Kills People”, “Bitten”, “Suits” and “The Good Witch”.
Viki advocates for industry equality and is a huge supporter of women in film. Currently she resides in Toronto and is bilingual English/Greek.
ELENI LARCHANIDOU – EXECUTIVE PRODUCER
A trilingual and fully qualified German and International Lawyer with US Masters in International Law, Eleni has functioned as an International Business and Development Consultant in Film & Entertainment Industry. Born in Greece, Eleni has also lived in Germany and the United States (California), where she is also a dual citizen (Greek American).
She originally became involved in the Entertainment Industry in 2004, expanded to financing additional international projects and since February 2014 she focused fully on working with screenwriters, authors and producers in various aspects of visual production, including financing, tax incentives, subsidies, grants and packaging of feature films and TV series.
Currently she is Epagon Pictures’ associate and executive producer on the flagship franchise Mortal Guard, while being engaged with international talents, film studios, distribution companies, domestic (US) and foreign co-production companies (also with bridge loan capabilities), CPAs specialized in production incentives, including debt financing services and payroll, an international broadcaster, a movie fund, and a matching fund provider.
MANUEL CANALES – EXECUTIVE PRODUCER
Since the early 1980s, Manuel Canales has been involved with the International Trade and Development, working with Multinational Broadcasting and Communications organizations. With over 40 years in the industry, he started as a producer in Chile and later advanced to Radio, TV, Networks and Syndication business worldwide, working with multinational companies in Europe, USA, Canada, Asia, Caribbean and Latin America.
Manuel Canales is the co-founder of TMGI, The Media Group Inc. (1995), a Canadian private corporation that holds several subsidiary marketing and development companies, dedicated to bridging corporate culture and opportunity sourced among well-funded, mature companies in the broadcasting, communications and social media industries.
In addition to his media and broadcasting activities, Manuel is the founder member of the CSDC Corp., Caribbean Sustainable Development Corp. (2009) and the co-founder of the BioChemicals of the Americas consortium (2011), creating the environment for the development of the Caribbean and Latin America Energy Renewable Investment Fund.
THIERRY POTOK – PRODUCER
Currently Chairman of the Icelanding Film Fund, Thierry Potok has a strong background in the finance sector. Head of Vivendi Deutchland and then owner of Studio Babelsberg (1999), he launched the initiative to bring the studio into a worldwide competitive resource of the film and TV industry of the 21st century. As an executive producer, he has supervised studio shoots of Kevin Spacey’s “Beyond the Sea”, Paul Gleengrass’ “The Bourne Supremacy”, Stephen Hopkin’s “Race”; as co-producer, Frank Coraci’s “Around the World in 80 Days”, Breck Eisner’s “Sahara”, and Ridley Scott’s “Kingdom of Heaven”; and, as associate producer, Paul W.S. Anderson’s “Alien vs. Predator” among other major film productions.
Between the years of 2012 and 2015, he ran as Chairman and CEO of the MP MedienParks NRW in Cologne, Germany, one of the largest German film and TV studios. He also runs his own Berlin based production company, DALKA, and is the President of the American European Consulting Services Corp. for the TV and film industry, based in Texas, USA. Throughout his career, he was cooperated with people such as Henning Mofenter, Orlando Bloom, Ridley Scott, Eva Green and William Monahan.
MELLISSA BRILEY – DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT | WRITER
Avid artist and awarded writer by the University of Vermont, US born Mellissa left her native New Jersey in 2003 and began her journey in Greece, where she began to integrate her love for ancient history into her professional life as a writer.
Creator and producer of the popular website “Whispers From Greece”, Mellissa’s poetic style and powerful prose has gained her a global audience and popularity especially for her series “A Conversation with the Gods”. After completing the world wide MOOC “Archaeology’s Dirty Little Secretes” hosted by Brown University in Long Island, Mellissa was inspired to create one of her most notable projects: “The Acropolis: Then and Now”. The project was to build a visual “window” in time, siding the ancient monument’s perspective in comparison with its modern existence.
Through her work as editor and story consultant for the entire Mortal Guard trilogy, in addition to her artistic skills with her material featured on Earthsky and seen on National Geographic & Saatchi Art, Mellissa joined EPAGON Pictures as Director of Development.
ORLANDA SZABO – SCREENWRITER | SCRIPT EDITOR | CONSULTANT | SHOWRUNNER
Canadian Orlanda Szabo has had 8 different features final in competitions. Two quarterfinals at BlueCat, as well as a top 10 in the American Gem and Pavaline short script competitions.
Starting in 1999, Orlanda became practiced in one-hour series and adept at the continuing story mainly in the science fiction/supernatural genres. Her writing evolved quickly upon enrolling and completing ScreenwritingU’s High Concept ProSeries and Master classes.
In addition, she delved into extra acting on Brad Pitt’s: The Assassination of Jesse James, Renee Zelwegger’s: New in Town and Wrong Turn 4 to name a few in order to hone her craft from script to screen in different genres.
As a script consultant, Orlanda unofficially joined the Mortal Guard team in 2009. She kept abreast of and continued to consult on the trilogy as a whole. Most recently, she has become script editor on the features, screenwriter with Vassilis and Mellissa on the Prelude series and the show runner on the series to follow.
MICHELE MULKEY – SPECIAL-FX | PROSTHETICS & MAKE UP COORDINATOR
Michele Mulkey has been active in the film industry for over 14 years, working in both Los Angeles and New York City. Starting her career in Los Angeles, Michele honed her skills working both in house and on set for many Special Effects shops including Keith Vanderlaan’s Captive Audience, Crisis FX, Film Illusions, Alterian, Inc., Global Effects and Unit 7. Now, Michele continues to work in film, television and theatre in the United States, U.K. and Canada.
Throughout her career, Michele’s skill and talent have been used to create various looks for many celebrities, including Thora Birch, Christine Lahti, Denzel Washington, Brittany Snow, David Rasche, Eddie Kaye Thomas, Michael Urie, Vin Diesel, Karl Urban, Colm Feore, Alan Cumming, Jamie Kennedy, Ben Stein, Jason Patric, Jennifer Tilly, Tobias Siegal, Jimmy Heck, Cosondra Sjostrom, Branca Ferrazo, Bolt Birch, Pat Morita, Hunter Tylo, Robin Riker, Karalyn West, Rick Cramer, Christopher Atkins, Seth Perterson, Richard Brooks and Dennis Haskins.
Michele’s credits have a combined total of over 43 feature films and television shows, including Petunia, The Last Samurai, The Chronicles of Riddick, Venom, Constantine, Son of the Mask, Sin City, Disney’s The Haunted Mansion, The Alamo, Seed of Chucky, The Passion of the Christ, Blood Junkies, Charmed, C.S.I. Miami, Joss Whedon’s Firefly, Without A Trace, Black. White., Bold and the Beautiful, Law and Order: Criminal Intent, and the Off-Broadway production of “Beast”.
DIMITRIS MANTALIAS – DIRECTOR | DoP
Dimitris is an award winning DoP who started off his career in 2006 at the shooting stage of wedding cinematography. Within two years he managed to gain two global awards, while in 2010, his work “The Butterfly Effect” won him the Award of Excellence at the Accolade Global Film Competition. Ever since, his work was exposed to a wider audience and his projects began to expand in the European Union with clients from Persia to the United States.
Writer and director of several short films, music videos and industrial presentations, Dimitris’ work has been featured in various cinematography sites. In the latest years, he was chosen by the official SONY representative in Greece to test out and present the company’s newest cameras aimed for the feature film cinematography.
Since 2011, Dimitris began a smaller scale cooperation with Vassilis, something that led to more detailed project designs and experimental scenes with ground and aerial shots. This eventually set up the foundation for Mortal Guard’s early pre-launch campaign.
